The new CharacterCanvas: any version of you, precisely
By Lindsay Hiebert, Founder — July 2026

Want a better LinkedIn profile — or social posts that actually capture how you work, live, learn, and play?
Have you been waiting for a way to turn the picture in your imagination into a real image — the version of yourself you cansee but never quite capture — with the precision to keep your identity, your brand, and your likeness intact?
If so, this is for you. Are you ready?
Announcing the new CharacterCanvas — precise, flexible transformation. One photo becomes any version of you: older, younger, executive, superhero, a monogram on your lapel and a tie in your exact colors — rendered exactly as you imagined, and unmistakably you. This month we rebuilt the entire product around that idea. This post is the tour.
And it’s more than a fun photo. Presenting yourself precisely — and refreshing that image as you grow — is becoming a real 21st-century skill. Consider this your first lesson.
Precision and flexibility — you shouldn’t have to choose
Most AI portrait tools make you pick one. Some hold a likeness but can’t really transform you — you get “you, in nicer lighting.” Others transform boldly but lose you along the way: the jawline drifts, the skin goes plastic, and a friend says “nice photo — who is it?” CharacterCanvas removes the trade-off. Transform as far as you want, and it stays precisely, accurately the identity you asked for.
Flexibility: nearly any prompt, nearly any subject. Age up or down, change the era, swap the wardrobe, add glasses, put yourself on a keynote stage or before the Statue of Liberty as an original superhero, monogram the jacket. Upload a person, a friend, a pet — even a marble statue or an old painting — and it transforms that too. It’s built for people, but it doesn’t much care whether the face it’s working with is yours or Michelangelo’s David.
Precision: it renders exactly what you specified, and keeps the identity true. Ask for “ten years older” and you get a believable older you — same person, real lines. Ask for “fifteen years younger, with a teal-and-copper geometric tie and my initials on the lapel,” and that’s what shows up. The likeness isn’t a lock you’re stuck behind — it’s a precision guarantee you dial: keep it exact, or push the transformation as far as you like.
One photo, real transformations — prompts included

The exact photo I uploaded → a polished LinkedIn headshot from that same source. Precisely me.
Now the other end of the range — the same upload, pushed all the way to an original superhero over New York. It’s essentially our Original Superhero preset with a small tweak — no prompt-engineering degree required. Because transparency is a feature, here’s the exact prompt:

“An ORIGINAL cinematic superhero portrait (not based on any existing character or brand): a bold custom teal and copper colored costume with a unique geometric chest emblem and a flowing HI TECH cape, heroic dramatic lighting. Photographed with flattering professional lighting and soft golden-hour-quality light, sharp focus and crisp clarity, natural healthy skin, high-resolution and polished. Set against an iconic New York City backdrop — the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty.”
There’s a fitting detail in that shot: the Statue of Liberty, right over my shoulder. Because what CharacterCanvas really hands you is freedom — the freedom to create, transform, and shape your own brand identity, with precision and full control. Simple tools; your vision.
In the same afternoon I asked it to make me ten years older, then fifteen years younger in a monogrammed suit, then this superhero. Same face through all of it — precisely transformed each time. That range, from one photo, is the whole point.
(Every result has a Copy prompt button — so when someone comments “WANT” on yours, you can hand them the recipe.)
Likeness, on your terms
Here’s the one thing we are strict about, and it’s a feature, not a limit: our built-in presets never silently change you. Tap “LinkedIn Headshot” and it won’t quietly de-age you or plastic-smooth your skin behind your back — you get you, precisely, in a sharp headshot. But the moment you ask for a change — younger, older, a new era, glasses, a full costume — it does exactly that. You’re always in the driver’s seat; the default just never surprises you.
“Transform as far as you want — and it’s precisely you.”
What you get, in plain terms
Full control — precision and flexibility. You’re always in the driver’s seat: keep your likeness exact, or transform as far as you want — older, younger, a new era, a full character. Precise when you want it exact, flexible the moment you want to push further.
You own everything you make. Full download rights, commercial use included. LinkedIn, book jacket, storefront — it’s yours.
Private by default — a gallery that’s yours alone. No public link, no one else can reach it, and your face is never used to train AI models. Download any image to keep and reuse it on your own device, and copy the prompt behind any result to reuse or share it. (Plain-English details on our privacy page.)
Amplify your favorites — one photo is all it takes. No 15–20 photo training set, no overnight wait. Upload a single photo you already love, describe the transformation, and a finished portrait comes back in seconds — then do it again with the next favorite.
No subscription. Ever. Flexible credit packs — from 10 images for $2 up to 350 for $50 — so you buy only what you need. The $2 Mini pack lets you test any transformation on your own face for the price of a coffee. Credits never expire, nothing auto-renews, and checkout runs through Stripe. (A comparable studio session runs $200–$2,000.)
A style for every transformation — including the ones ahead of you
Curated starters give you a precise jumping-off point in six families — then take them anywhere with your own words:
- Professional — LinkedIn Headshot, Executive Portrait, Conference Speaker.
- Milestones (new this month) — First Keynote, Author Photo, Race Day, Graduation, Day One, New Chapter. Portraits people need slightly before the moment arrives.
- Creative — Oil Painting, Watercolor, Pop Art, Neo-Noir Cinema.
- Lifestyle — Dating Profile, Travel Portrait, Fitness Look.
- Fun — Original Superhero, Fantasy Royalty, Movie-Poster Hero.
- Seasonal — Holiday Card, ready before the season sneaks up on you.

Honest answers, on the page
The new site says the quiet parts out loud. There’s a section on why AI portraits so often look almost like you, and an FAQ answering the question every smart visitor is thinking: “Can’t I just do this free in ChatGPT or Gemini?” You can — if you enjoy prompt engineering and a few rounds of iteration. CharacterCanvas is the other path: the prompt work is done and tuned for precise, faithful transformation. One photo, one description, about sixty seconds, from $2. There are also dedicated Support and Refunds pages — unused packs are refundable within 14 days.
Why I built this
I spent about forty years in networks and security. I built CharacterCanvas because of something I kept noticing about people who grow into big moments: they could see themselves there first. Most of us can’t — the mind’s eye is blurry. A precise picture of you, transformed into the role you’re walking toward, makes it concrete. The image doesn’t do the work; you do. But it’s easier to become a version of yourself you’ve actually seen — and easier still when you can shape it exactly.
That’s the sentence under everything here, and it’s in our footer for a reason: made for people who’d rather stay themselves — while becoming anything they choose.
A 21st-century skill worth developing
Here’s the bigger idea. Your digital identity — how you show up on LinkedIn, in a bio, on a profile, in a post — is now a real skill, as learnable as writing or presenting. And like any craft, it rewards continuous improvement: small, deliberate, quality refinements that compound over time. Think of it as Kaizen for how you present yourself.
CharacterCanvas is the tool that makes that practice fast and precise — refresh, refine, and level up your image again and again, for however you work, live, learn, and play. Without a studio. And always, precisely, still you.

Any version of you is one photo away. Test a transformation on your own face — from $2 — at charactercanvas.ai.
